00;00;00;06 - 00;00;01;11
Speaker 3
how do you know if you're going to be the
00;00;01;19 - 00;00;02;15
Speaker 3
star athlete
00;00;02;21 - 00;00;04;13
Speaker 3
if you never take that shot? Sure.
00;00;04;17 - 00;00;07;14
Speaker 3
there's really no blueprint of business, but networking is everything.
00;00;07;19 - 00;00;09;15
Speaker 3
wasn't about quantity is about quality.
00;00;09;22 - 00;00;10;18
Speaker 3
I don't believe in failure.
00;00;10;18 - 00;00;11;09
Speaker 1
So, sure,
00;00;11;09 - 00;00;14;24
Speaker 3
in my mind I was shooting past the moon, I was shooting for the stars.
00;00;14;26 - 00;00;16;19
Speaker 1
Hey everybody Brian Lee here with pre Founders Club.
00;00;16;22 - 00;00;22;04
Speaker 1
This summer I had a chance to golf nine holes with fashion designer and founder of three M luxury Jared Hall.
00;00;22;04 - 00;00;25;16
Speaker 1
There's a reality episode about it. You can go see what we scored and hear his story,
00;00;25;20 - 00;00;29;21
Speaker 1
but we didn't have a chance to put the entire conversation in that show just for time.
00;00;29;29 - 00;00;32;19
Speaker 1
So in this video, we're going to give you the extended conversation.
00;00;32;25 - 00;00;37;29
Speaker 1
you're going to hear about how he grew up in a huge family, had to fight for attention, and he wanted to make something for himself.
00;00;38;01 - 00;00;46;29
Speaker 1
And he didn't know how he would do it. But he believed in himself and he just started to take action. And I want you to pay attention to the fact that he kept his job through this whole process.
00;00;47;01 - 00;00;51;13
Speaker 1
He took a chance. He found a manufacturer, he designed his first luxury bag,
00;00;51;13 - 00;00;54;22
Speaker 1
and then he got a break in Kansas City, where he got his first fashion show,
00;00;54;24 - 00;00;59;24
Speaker 1
which led him to Los Angeles and then to Dubai and ultimately the runways of Paris.
00;00;59;26 - 00;01;09;25
Speaker 1
He had an exit plan for himself on how he was going to leave his 9 to 5, but he didn't leave until he was ready. I think you're going to get a lot out of this interview. Please let me know what you think.
00;01;09;28 - 00;01;14;12
Speaker 1
Today I'm with Jared Hall, a local entrepreneur who just won entrepreneur of the year from Uno.
00;01;14;14 - 00;01;18;04
Speaker 1
And he's also got a successful fashion design business we're about to share with you.
00;01;18;06 - 00;01;23;03
Speaker 1
How would you describe your business? And, kind of what you offer the world?
00;01;23;06 - 00;01;44;09
Speaker 3
Describe it. Theory of luxury is like, describing every single individual's inner self. The meaning behind Ethereum. The three represents the third, which means to be a free thinker creator. The egg represents the angle in which you see a reality, and the M is comprised of two pyramids. The first pyramid represents much elevation, the second pyramid represents manifestation.
00;01;44;09 - 00;01;53;01
Speaker 3
So when it's tied together at 3 a.m., what it stands for is to believe in yourself. Trust your vision sounds the best version of you to inspire growth. The manifest life is over desire.
00;01;53;04 - 00;01;53;14
Speaker 3
Yeah.
00;01;53;17 - 00;02;03;12
Speaker 3
what I offer the world is that very principle is when you carry through a product, you basically carry on that same principle, which is to believe in yourself and manifest the likely services.
00;02;03;14 - 00;02;05;11
Speaker 1
I love them. And you put a lot of thought into that.
00;02;05;13 - 00;02;07;12
Speaker 1
So, did you grow up playing sports?
00;02;07;15 - 00;02;10;07
Speaker 3
Yeah. My first sport, actually was, I was arrested.
00;02;10;09 - 00;02;10;24
Speaker 1
Oh, no. Good.
00;02;10;26 - 00;02;19;17
Speaker 3
Yeah. I was no one of the nation in wrestling, and, I moved on to basketball, track, football, cross country, a little, a little bit of me.
00;02;19;20 - 00;02;23;14
Speaker 1
No kidding. Did you play any sports after high school?
00;02;23;17 - 00;02;25;08
Speaker 3
I went to college for basketball on track and.
00;02;25;10 - 00;02;26;18
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00;02;26;20 - 00;02;39;07
Speaker 3
But the school I went to, it really wasn't cut out for me. So after that, sports was done, I mean, I played in, you know, like, leagues and things like that. But then I got over into focusing on my academics.
00;02;39;10 - 00;02;39;19
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;02;39;19 - 00;02;48;29
Speaker 3
And then I got into the business world, the automotive industry, and, started my own branding business ever since.
00;02;49;01 - 00;02;55;26
Speaker 1
So how how was the sports that you played? High school and college. How did that help prepare you for the business world?
00;02;55;29 - 00;03;22;08
Speaker 3
I think sports help because it teaches you teamwork. Yeah. At the same time, it's teamwork. It teaches you positions and understanding the importance of your position. Yeah, because everybody wanted to be Michael Jordan. But if Michael Jordan, you had the pieces around on the sneakers. Sure. It wouldn't work. Yeah. You know, so for me, it helped me understand that in business, you may like you may start out wearing all the all the hats.
00;03;22;10 - 00;03;32;14
Speaker 3
You want to be the coach. You want to be the general manager. You want to be the, athletic director, the trainer, the player. But you have to add those pieces.
00;03;32;17 - 00;03;33;16
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;03;33;18 - 00;03;36;28
Speaker 1
So, yeah, you have to know people and how to and how to how to work with them. Right.
00;03;37;01 - 00;04;04;26
Speaker 3
Right. Yeah. And that's, that's the most important thing that I learned even even in the car industry too. You know, because I'm, I'm, I'm one person that pushes the, ball forward. Yeah. And so and business, you know, just like being, doing international fashion shows and also getting to other stores in different countries. Sure. If I don't have the work ethic and the understanding of you know, how to work with people.
00;04;05;01 - 00;04;06;21
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00;04;06;24 - 00;04;08;26
Speaker 3
Because I wouldn't be to do if I'm American, you know.
00;04;09;00 - 00;04;09;22
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;04;09;25 - 00;04;12;14
Speaker 3
So, what makes you think it's a bit.
00;04;12;16 - 00;04;36;09
Speaker 1
I won't be an entrepreneur. Since I was a kid, I started off with, like, lawn mowing businesses, lemonade stands. You know, I had a t shirt business in college. Okay. Yeah. And then I ended up. I moved, I got into the film industry for a little while. Moved LA. Oh, yeah. And so that's kind of I learned a little bit of production stuff.
00;04;36;11 - 00;04;47;17
Speaker 3
I did, it's a production, production production assistant on a documentary about which is 65 kids from, Omaha to Barack Obama. Second.
00;04;47;19 - 00;04;48;05
Speaker 2
Oh, cool.
00;04;48;07 - 00;04;53;15
Speaker 3
Yeah. My twin was the, assistant director. With that, here's a, you know, professor at the time.
00;04;53;20 - 00;04;57;20
Speaker 1
Nice. No, I was in Omaha. Yeah. This production. Yeah. That's awesome. Man.
00;04;57;24 - 00;05;03;01
Speaker 3
It was pretty cool. I just didn't like the long bus ride to DC.
00;05;03;03 - 00;05;05;09
Speaker 1
Well, I take a couple days.
00;05;05;12 - 00;05;09;10
Speaker 3
who is your favorite part about being at LA?
00;05;09;13 - 00;05;23;21
Speaker 1
Oh my gosh. To be honest, my favorite part was, like, everyone kind of had this sense of possibility, and everyone's like, oh, like, respects your idea. You know, they're like, great idea. We're sometimes right here, you come up with an idea and they're kind of like.
00;05;23;24 - 00;05;27;08
Speaker 2
Really, really, you know what I'm saying?
00;05;27;11 - 00;05;33;15
Speaker 3
When I first when I first was, I talked to them, I'm like, do handbags. And then they was like,
00;05;33;18 - 00;05;35;14
Speaker 3
yeah, I don't think that's going to work
00;05;35;16 - 00;05;41;01
Speaker 1
How did you know that you would be good at design? Is that something you've done in the past, or, like, how did that come about?
00;05;41;03 - 00;05;43;07
Speaker 3
No, I didn't know I'd be good at it.
00;05;43;09 - 00;05;44;05
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;05;44;08 - 00;05;50;27
Speaker 3
I took a risk, but I always been created. Yeah, and I know what I like things that look like.
00;05;51;04 - 00;05;51;13
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;05;51;19 - 00;06;03;28
Speaker 3
And I know quality. Yeah. So I know if I can get my hands on quality material, then I will be able to, you know, maximize something. And even if it came down to a partner with people who, you know, help me along the way.
00;06;04;03 - 00;06;05;18
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;06;05;20 - 00;06;08;06
Speaker 3
But I just always felt like,
00;06;08;08 - 00;06;13;09
Speaker 3
how do you know if you're going to be the star athlete if you never take that shot? Sure.
00;06;13;13 - 00;06;16;19
Speaker 3
You know, so, I'm always willing to risk anything to try again.
00;06;16;23 - 00;06;17;12
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;06;17;14 - 00;06;19;01
Speaker 3
Kind of like a daredevil, in a sense.
00;06;19;04 - 00;06;19;24
Speaker 2
Yeah, but.
00;06;19;24 - 00;06;26;06
Speaker 3
That come from. As a kid. I used to like when I actually do backflips out. So I just always.
00;06;26;06 - 00;06;28;07
Speaker 1
Figured there's some fearless. I was fearless,
00;06;28;10 - 00;06;35;26
Speaker 3
Yeah. I just always thought in like that, you would never know if you don't take the opportunity to, I guess, fail. If they say, yeah,
00;06;35;26 - 00;06;36;22
Speaker 3
I don't believe in failure.
00;06;36;22 - 00;06;38;17
Speaker 1
So, sure,
00;06;38;20 - 00;06;41;29
Speaker 3
You got two, siblings. You got big family. Small family.
00;06;42;01 - 00;06;50;21
Speaker 1
I'm the oldest of three. I got a younger brother, five years younger, and then a sister ten years younger. Somebody's self.
00;06;50;24 - 00;06;52;06
Speaker 3
Ten of us total, ten total.
00;06;52;06 - 00;06;54;19
Speaker 1
Holy cow. And where do you rank in all that?
00;06;54;26 - 00;06;55;09
Speaker 2
Right in the.
00;06;55;09 - 00;06;58;06
Speaker 1
Middle. Right in the middle.
00;06;58;09 - 00;07;01;09
Speaker 3
But, yeah, I got three older sisters
00;07;01;11 - 00;07;02;28
Speaker 1
Yeah. Three older sisters.
00;07;03;01 - 00;07;17;14
Speaker 3
One older brother. Yeah he ordered me about six minutes. But I don't tell you that here. Tell you that, you know, I have three younger brothers and one younger sister and then know 17 grandkids.
00;07;17;16 - 00;07;19;14
Speaker 1
17 grandkids already. Wow.
00;07;19;19 - 00;07;20;06
Speaker 3
25.
00;07;20;06 - 00;07;21;22
Speaker 2
So, yeah.
00;07;21;25 - 00;07;24;17
Speaker 3
One of us got to be entrepreneur and make it because.
00;07;24;19 - 00;07;27;10
Speaker 1
You sure? No kidding.
00;07;27;13 - 00;07;36;11
Speaker 1
living in a family with you said ten children total. So how did that help you prepare you for the business world and for adulthood?
00;07;36;13 - 00;07;40;13
Speaker 3
That's a good question. I think having that many siblings.
00;07;40;15 - 00;07;41;01
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;07;41;03 - 00;07;42;17
Speaker 3
You see different styles.
00;07;42;19 - 00;07;43;09
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;07;43;11 - 00;07;56;03
Speaker 3
And then you also deal with different personalities. So you know, you learn how to adjust to each person. And then at the same time, sometimes clothes got to go to the next one.
00;07;56;06 - 00;07;56;14
Speaker 2
Sure.
00;07;56;15 - 00;08;06;21
Speaker 3
So when it's your turn to where you got to, you know me. I want to always make sure I look nice. Yeah, I may put something different. Sure. That my twin would. You know, my older brother, some like that.
00;08;06;21 - 00;08;08;17
Speaker 2
So. Okay.
00;08;08;20 - 00;08;14;23
Speaker 1
So learning how to kind of make yourself, distinguish your individual versus everyone else. Yeah.
00;08;14;23 - 00;08;18;20
Speaker 3
Yeah, you definitely have to have been a twin because when we was kids, these addresses are like my my partner.
00;08;18;23 - 00;08;19;15
Speaker 1
Oh, sure.
00;08;19;17 - 00;08;20;14
Speaker 3
And so once we you got.
00;08;20;14 - 00;08;21;13
Speaker 1
To find ways to be your own.
00;08;21;13 - 00;08;23;01
Speaker 3
Yeah. Yeah. It was like I, I'm not wearing it.
00;08;23;07 - 00;08;24;05
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;08;24;07 - 00;08;25;21
Speaker 3
So you pick your you pick your own clothes.
00;08;25;21 - 00;08;27;03
Speaker 2
Yeah I like that to be.
00;08;27;03 - 00;08;35;03
Speaker 3
Different from your twin. But as adults we still sometimes may dress alike. Yeah. You know, just to play with people. Right. See, me and.
00;08;35;06 - 00;08;36;07
Speaker 1
You look pretty similar.
00;08;36;10 - 00;08;45;24
Speaker 3
Oh, yeah. He just don't have a long hair. Yeah, but sometimes people see him and maybe, like, you cut your hair. Yeah. No, that's my twin. Or you see me and be like, man, you know, that's my twin.
00;08;45;27 - 00;08;46;13
Speaker 1
Nice.
00;08;46;18 - 00;08;53;13
Speaker 3
Yeah. But having having a big family, though, it is a blessing because you always got people to bounce ideas from. You always got people to talk to.
00;08;53;18 - 00;08;54;08
Speaker 2
Yeah. Friends.
00;08;54;08 - 00;09;02;26
Speaker 3
When you sometimes I think you got friends. And so I know a lot of times you get tunnel vision in the business world. For me it's sometimes I get lonely.
00;09;02;28 - 00;09;03;17
Speaker 2
Sure, but.
00;09;03;17 - 00;09;08;03
Speaker 3
When you got those, you know, I look at, like, that octopus a little bit. Because when you got those of.
00;09;08;05 - 00;09;12;10
Speaker 1
Sure, you sound pretty tight. Everyone sticks together pretty well. Yeah, that's that's great.
00;09;12;12 - 00;09;13;19
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah.
00;09;13;21 - 00;09;24;22
Speaker 1
So what was your role and personality in the in the in the ten, versus the others? The, you like peacekeeper or the aggressive one? You like the action taker?
00;09;24;26 - 00;09;26;04
Speaker 2
Yeah. Yeah.
00;09;26;06 - 00;09;31;27
Speaker 3
I was the one two. Curious. Always interested in what I can get into.
00;09;31;29 - 00;09;32;09
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;09;32;12 - 00;09;35;16
Speaker 3
And so,
00;09;35;19 - 00;09;39;01
Speaker 3
You know, I found I found my I found a good way to get in trouble.
00;09;39;07 - 00;09;40;00
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;09;40;03 - 00;09;47;23
Speaker 3
And, being having a twin, like, he could protect yourself, but I always feel like, he's protected.
00;09;48;00 - 00;09;49;05
Speaker 1
You always wanted to be there for him.
00;09;49;05 - 00;09;50;28
Speaker 2
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
00;09;51;00 - 00;10;00;00
Speaker 3
So. But, no, I mean, the. And the one at a joke around a lot with people, make people laugh, you know, things like that.
00;10;00;02 - 00;10;01;14
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;10;01;16 - 00;10;06;19
Speaker 3
So he was the one that was always trying to, all of us got got the entrepreneurial spirit.
00;10;06;26 - 00;10;07;14
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;10;07;16 - 00;10;15;19
Speaker 3
But I'll be thinking, thinking, thinking like, what can I do? What can I do, what I do? Because, you know, especially being with a big family, you want to figure out a way to stand out, too?
00;10;15;22 - 00;10;16;02
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;10;16;02 - 00;10;18;28
Speaker 1
So right on.
00;10;19;01 - 00;10;23;02
Speaker 1
What was the first piece of apparel that you designed to.
00;10;23;04 - 00;10;28;14
Speaker 3
Actually the t shirt? Yeah, yeah.
00;10;28;16 - 00;10;31;06
Speaker 3
Once I finally had decided what the logo was going to be.
00;10;31;09 - 00;10;32;05
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;10;32;07 - 00;10;42;00
Speaker 3
I ended up, trying to figure out because I felt like I had a, like, for brand awareness. If I walk around with it on People Act. What does that say before?
00;10;42;04 - 00;10;42;13
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;10;42;20 - 00;10;58;06
Speaker 3
About some of these, like the placement of it. And I tried a bunch of different places before. I just put a big logo on the front. Yeah. And so whenever I go to the gym or, you know, be out, I wore that, but, before that, that's the first one that came to fruition.
00;10;58;12 - 00;10;58;23
Speaker 2
Sure.
00;10;58;25 - 00;11;23;24
Speaker 3
As far as the handbags and the other system was concerned, it was actually a duffel bag in a backpack. And then, fanny pack, crossbody. Like, for me, it's unisex, really, but sling bag. Yeah. So those were the those were the first ones. And then, like little keychain. Well. Oh, yeah. And, the reason why design was first is because I had a bag that was a different brand that failed me when I was on an errand, a trip to Arizona.
00;11;23;27 - 00;11;24;21
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00;11;24;24 - 00;11;30;19
Speaker 3
And so I wanted a duffel bag that can carry that wouldn't feel so everything to me, it
00;11;30;19 - 00;11;32;15
Speaker 3
wasn't about quantity is about quality.
00;11;32;22 - 00;11;45;20
Speaker 3
Sure. What happened with the zipper? I got some trinkets for the airport. Stuff everything. And I carry on. Yeah, and I zipped the bag up and the plastic bag got zipped in between the zipper. And I went to unzip it.
00;11;45;20 - 00;11;54;18
Speaker 3
The teeth broke. So one thing, I mean, I wanted to make sure when I had, finally had the product is that the zippers?
00;11;54;20 - 00;11;56;21
Speaker 1
Oh, sure. Yeah. Yeah.
00;11;56;23 - 00;11;57;17
Speaker 3
That was a composite.
00;11;57;18 - 00;12;04;13
Speaker 1
How does how does one go about designing a bag? You obviously have to have someone help you manufacture it. Right? Or did you make. You didn't make it as well, did you?
00;12;04;13 - 00;12;05;03
Speaker 2
No no no no no.
00;12;05;03 - 00;12;10;13
Speaker 3
Yeah yeah I knew I knew from Jump Street that I wanted to deal with the manufacturer. Sure. Because
00;12;10;13 - 00;12;14;25
Speaker 3
in my mind I was shooting past the moon, I was shooting for the stars. And I knew that
00;12;14;27 - 00;12;21;08
Speaker 3
if I had 5 or 6 people that wanted to bag today, I wouldn't. If I was doing it myself, I couldn't get it done in time.
00;12;21;10 - 00;12;21;29
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;12;22;01 - 00;12;29;17
Speaker 3
To satisfy the customer. So, automatically I told the manufacturer. But I thought it was the best way to go.
00;12;29;19 - 00;12;30;24
Speaker 1
Sure.
00;12;30;26 - 00;12;37;18
Speaker 1
I'm curious to know, like, how you identify the manufacturer. How do you even. What do you start?
00;12;37;20 - 00;12;49;28
Speaker 3
Another good question. I really thought the. My philosophy is the internet is a great equalizer. And so when I first started searching because I studied Louis Vuitton and Gucci.
00;12;50;01 - 00;12;50;25
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;12;50;28 - 00;13;00;05
Speaker 3
I found a manufacturer in it. It's called a white city because it's surrounded by mountains and I contacted them.
00;13;00;12 - 00;13;01;04
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;13;01;06 - 00;13;05;29
Speaker 3
And then I realized how difficult it would be to, work with them.
00;13;06;06 - 00;13;06;14
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;13;06;15 - 00;13;07;11
Speaker 3
Because the time difference.
00;13;07;16 - 00;13;07;29
Speaker 1
Oh, sure.
00;13;08;03 - 00;13;18;26
Speaker 3
And then, plus, I found out that you had to get over to Spain, take a train to cities over. And you basically got to know somebody to even get into that city.
00;13;18;28 - 00;13;19;15
Speaker 1
No kidding.
00;13;19;20 - 00;13;21;12
Speaker 3
And that's what, like, a lot of blacksmiths were down.
00;13;21;19 - 00;13;23;19
Speaker 2
So wow.
00;13;23;22 - 00;13;29;12
Speaker 3
From there, I started thinking about designer companies that like designer brands and luxury brands.
00;13;29;15 - 00;13;30;12
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;13;30;14 - 00;13;34;07
Speaker 3
And so, from Omaha, Nebraska, in the middle of the middle of America.
00;13;34;11 - 00;13;34;27
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;13;35;00 - 00;13;46;16
Speaker 3
I try to do everything in America, sir. I started searching him out here in America, and I ended up networking with somebody who told me about a couple different manufacturers. And by way of contacting you.
00;13;46;21 - 00;13;47;07
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;13;47;09 - 00;13;49;23
Speaker 3
I found out I found only a factory in California.
00;13;49;29 - 00;13;51;28
Speaker 1
That sounds. I was quite, quite the search,
00;13;52;00 - 00;13;53;01
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;13;53;03 - 00;13;55;05
Speaker 3
You know what's interesting about the manufacturers.
00;13;55;08 - 00;13;55;26
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;13;55;28 - 00;14;12;22
Speaker 3
Is nowadays I like you could, you know, like Instagram was, you could find all these different manufacturers and then they come down to, like, you negotiate with them because some of them nowadays would just want you to jump into product.
00;14;12;27 - 00;14;13;12
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;14;13;15 - 00;14;16;15
Speaker 3
You never even see their work.
00;14;16;17 - 00;14;22;12
Speaker 3
And so that's one thing that people got to watch out for is that when dealing with these manufacturers, make sure you can get like a simple.
00;14;22;16 - 00;14;23;05
Speaker 2
Sir.
00;14;23;08 - 00;14;26;18
Speaker 3
Because because you got hey, no, we can do this and do that.
00;14;26;20 - 00;14;28;10
Speaker 1
I may not be what you're looking for.
00;14;28;11 - 00;14;29;14
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;14;29;16 - 00;14;37;13
Speaker 3
And you want to check? It's a custom manufacturer. Is it One-Stop shop, too? They got material there already?
00;14;37;13 - 00;14;38;04
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;14;38;06 - 00;14;54;19
Speaker 3
And so. But you don't know what the material is. You don't know if it's, you know, actual leather or if it's, you know, real ostrich or whatever it is it's working with. So, sure, it's best to kind of consult, different, different companies to see. Yeah. Hey, what kind of leather do you have?
00;14;54;24 - 00;14;55;15
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;14;55;17 - 00;14;58;03
Speaker 3
Because somebody do a genuine leather. I think it's real leather, but it's really not.
00;14;58;03 - 00;15;01;21
Speaker 1
But when they call it genuine, that's how real leather. No.
00;15;01;24 - 00;15;03;10
Speaker 3
How long you been playing.
00;15;03;13 - 00;15;26;19
Speaker 1
Man, dude, I've been playing way too long for I should be better. But I've started playing in college, and my brother and I would go to our little local courses and, like, we didn't know golf etiquette and stuff. And so we get run out because we didn't have a collar on or, you know what I mean? So I kind of have a soft spot for like hometown courses, like, you know, like these guys are
00;15;26;25 - 00;15;28;09
Speaker 1
you know, this is like, pretty laid back.
00;15;28;09 - 00;15;41;16
Speaker 1
It's a farmers course. Like, they're not as pretentious as some that, you know, there's a really cool course on farmland up in up near, Sioux City, Iowa. But it's on the rescue side. There's a whole farm they turn to, of course, as we call,
00;15;41;19 - 00;15;50;00
Speaker 1
Actually, I do have a good golf story. I, when I was in college, I worked for this company called jocks. It was a friend of mine, the sort of t shirt company, the sports t shirts.
00;15;50;06 - 00;16;17;13
Speaker 1
And I designed some of those shirts. Oh, yeah. And so, we went to a trade show in Chicago where a lot of different, you know, clothing manufacturers, sports and fixtures there. And Tom Osborne was there and, we had just won Nebraska just beat Colorado in 94, 94, 95. We tore the goalposts down and, me and my buddies had a piece of it, like, we got a hacksaw, we got a gold piece of it.
00;16;17;15 - 00;16;28;06
Speaker 1
And so I took it to that trade show. Thomas was there, and I brought it up to him at the signing booth, and he said, he said, this is what I think it is. I said, yeah, and he signed it. So we got a signed goalpost.
00;16;28;08 - 00;16;28;28
Speaker 3
You still got it.
00;16;28;29 - 00;16;37;14
Speaker 1
As, was my buddy. So has it. But how does this tie to golf? I got my first bag and my first golf clubs at that at that event. And that's kinda where it started.
00;16;37;17 - 00;16;43;09
Speaker 1
where I got a little bit better is I'm in these leagues with like a Monday night league. We play every Monday night holes.
00;16;43;11 - 00;16;44;04
Speaker 3
Like in the morning at.
00;16;44;04 - 00;16;55;25
Speaker 1
Night at evening like usually like after work like 6:00 and and then I'm in I'm in a weekend deal too, where we play a different course every weekend. So that's kind of how you start doing a little better.
00;16;55;27 - 00;16;57;29
Speaker 3
Let's pick on his golf course. I don't see that much.
00;16;58;02 - 00;16;58;17
Speaker 1
People.
00;16;58;17 - 00;16;59;02
Speaker 2
Peace.
00;16;59;04 - 00;17;04;02
Speaker 1
Peaceful. Oh, that's one thing I love about it. Get outside, get some fresh air. Go exercise.
00;17;04;08 - 00;17;12;05
Speaker 3
I got a I got a friend, who I work out with all the time. Yeah, he got golf. He been trying to start golfing. Yeah, I will.
00;17;12;08 - 00;17;13;05
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00;17;13;07 - 00;17;15;11
Speaker 1
You know, keeps you competitive.
00;17;15;14 - 00;17;15;28
Speaker 3
Yeah.
00;17;16;01 - 00;17;17;26
Speaker 1
Clears your mind a little bit.
00;17;17;28 - 00;17;18;27
Speaker 2
Oh, you.
00;17;19;00 - 00;17;20;07
Speaker 3
Remind me of fish and fish.
00;17;20;12 - 00;17;23;15
Speaker 1
I do fish, yeah. Yep.
00;17;23;17 - 00;17;28;03
Speaker 3
That's my older brother thing we used to do as a kid all the time, but I had about five six post.
00;17;28;06 - 00;17;28;18
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;17;28;18 - 00;17;30;21
Speaker 3
And my brother collected all over.
00;17;30;24 - 00;17;31;27
Speaker 1
Oh no kidding.
00;17;32;00 - 00;17;35;15
Speaker 3
And now he got about 26. But I'm like, he's.
00;17;35;18 - 00;17;39;11
Speaker 1
26. I might have 6 or 8 poles, but I'm not 26.
00;17;39;14 - 00;17;41;04
Speaker 3
What do you like going after most?
00;17;41;07 - 00;17;47;04
Speaker 1
Well, you know, my family started going to Canada once a year and they got some big, northern up there that I like.
00;17;47;07 - 00;17;50;03
Speaker 1
get a walleye. It's kind of fun. Oh, yeah. You know.
00;17;50;06 - 00;17;55;16
Speaker 3
Do you, remember years ago you can go behind the airport and fish?
00;17;55;19 - 00;17;57;05
Speaker 1
I remember seeing people back there.
00;17;57;12 - 00;17;59;19
Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah.
00;17;59;21 - 00;18;01;12
Speaker 3
I caught a guard back here when I was a kid.
00;18;01;18 - 00;18;02;15
Speaker 2
Oh, yeah?
00;18;02;18 - 00;18;06;19
Speaker 1
Yeah. Was. I get pretty big?
00;18;06;21 - 00;18;08;27
Speaker 1
Yeah. Are those the ones that are kind of.
00;18;08;29 - 00;18;10;18
Speaker 3
They got that sharp scaly.
00;18;10;18 - 00;18;12;11
Speaker 2
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
00;18;12;14 - 00;18;15;16
Speaker 1
That's crazy man.
00;18;15;19 - 00;18;18;21
Speaker 3
It's like like I like going the car for the fight.
00;18;18;24 - 00;18;20;00
Speaker 1
Oh yeah. Yeah.
00;18;20;02 - 00;18;21;29
Speaker 3
But I really like cropping in blue there.
00;18;22;02 - 00;18;27;13
Speaker 1
Yeah. That is like a prehistoric fish or something.
00;18;27;18 - 00;18;29;18
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;18;29;20 - 00;18;39;15
Speaker 3
I think when I was in Alaska, my study abroad in Belize, we had to go. So it was this place for, the the in the village.
00;18;39;18 - 00;18;40;22
Speaker 2
Yeah. These people.
00;18;40;25 - 00;18;45;19
Speaker 3
They they, the rig and the people lived along the coast for thousands of years.
00;18;45;21 - 00;18;56;02
Speaker 3
And so we did like, like basically like a day in the life. So we, we were there for a few days. So when it came time to eat, we had to go fish.
00;18;56;04 - 00;18;58;07
Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah. And, because.
00;18;58;07 - 00;18;58;27
Speaker 3
Snapper.
00;18;59;00 - 00;18;59;22
Speaker 1
Oh, nice.
00;18;59;25 - 00;19;01;04
Speaker 3
I got a picture.
00;19;01;06 - 00;19;03;23
Speaker 1
Oh, that's good food, right?
00;19;03;26 - 00;19;07;03
Speaker 3
I don't know what they used for season, but I never had no fish that taste that good.
00;19;07;07 - 00;19;08;07
Speaker 1
That's great.
00;19;08;09 - 00;19;14;17
Speaker 3
And, you know, I was stupid because, I was thirsty, and I was asking for water, and I was like, point up to the trees, but the coconut.
00;19;14;19 - 00;19;15;21
Speaker 1
They just drink the coconut water.
00;19;15;21 - 00;19;16;20
Speaker 2
Yeah. That's cool.
00;19;16;21 - 00;19;17;17
Speaker 3
They showed so.
00;19;17;20 - 00;19;18;07
Speaker 2
So. Yeah.
00;19;18;09 - 00;19;30;19
Speaker 3
Take it down, open it up. Drink the water. Me being me, I'm about to try to see how far I said, what are you doing? I'm like, I'm about to see how far with this coconut. He said it's food in there.
00;19;30;22 - 00;19;31;05
Speaker 2
Sir.
00;19;31;05 - 00;19;37;06
Speaker 3
But then later on, we made mashed potatoes out of the ball, out of the meat, inside the coconut.
00;19;37;07 - 00;19;41;01
Speaker 1
Out of the coconut meat with mashed potatoes. Is that pretty good? Oh, man.
00;19;41;03 - 00;19;42;18
Speaker 2
Wow.
00;19;42;21 - 00;19;43;28
Speaker 3
Some of the best stuff I ever had.
00;19;44;01 - 00;19;45;06
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;19;45;08 - 00;19;46;09
Speaker 1
That sounds awesome, man.
00;19;46;16 - 00;19;52;17
Speaker 1
how long did it take you to where you could make a living on on apparel?
00;19;52;19 - 00;19;54;27
Speaker 3
I would say right up until.
00;19;55;00 - 00;19;57;00
Speaker 3
Around August. September of last year.
00;19;57;03 - 00;19;57;14
Speaker 2
Really?
00;19;57;21 - 00;19;59;02
Speaker 3
Yeah. Because.
00;19;59;05 - 00;20;01;00
Speaker 3
My, my my cover was
00;20;01;02 - 00;20;14;21
Speaker 3
I was in the car industry. Yeah. That gave me not only, you know, financially. Yeah, but I was able to be to live comfortable. So with the income I was making. Yeah. And so instead of, you know, trying to find investors.
00;20;14;23 - 00;20;15;06
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;20;15;06 - 00;20;18;17
Speaker 3
Anything like that, I just started everything myself, sir.
00;20;18;17 - 00;20;20;00
Speaker 1
Well, you had income. Yeah.
00;20;20;00 - 00;20;29;14
Speaker 3
Yeah, but I didn't understand. You know, how to pay myself risk mitigation, all those kind of thing. So I was I was going.
00;20;29;14 - 00;20;30;20
Speaker 2
Along, sir.
00;20;30;22 - 00;20;35;17
Speaker 3
And so I never took any money. I just always were reinvesting.
00;20;35;20 - 00;20;44;20
Speaker 3
And when I start seeing the money grow, I started becoming more comfortable with walking away from the auto, the automotive.
00;20;44;22 - 00;20;45;28
Speaker 2
Sir.
00;20;46;01 - 00;21;04;10
Speaker 3
And then now, when I started, like my very first fashion show, which was in Kansas City, the let me see every time, you know, posted it back. She wanted it, she wanted the money. And then I was like, well, if you want this mini bad, why don't you just put them in your store?
00;21;04;12 - 00;21;04;29
Speaker 1
Oh, sure.
00;21;05;00 - 00;21;07;19
Speaker 3
And then so that's when I had my first wholesale.
00;21;07;22 - 00;21;08;24
Speaker 1
Oh, nice.
00;21;08;26 - 00;21;14;13
Speaker 3
So I was like, you know, I was like, I wonder if I should, you know, talk to more store owners.
00;21;14;15 - 00;21;18;04
Speaker 2
Yeah. And then.
00;21;18;07 - 00;21;23;06
Speaker 2
Like some time, it's my boss.
00;21;23;09 - 00;21;26;04
Speaker 3
They come all the way. But.
00;21;26;07 - 00;21;44;29
Speaker 3
People began to be more interested in it. Like I said, I will reinvest the money and I will replace the product. And then I started doing a little bit extra things with it. Kind of like having your name, engraved the leather in the bed. Sure. Allowing somebody to be a part of the design process by choosing a cut the colors they wanted.
00;21;45;01 - 00;21;45;25
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;21;45;27 - 00;22;01;11
Speaker 3
So that gave me the opportunity to be able to charge a little bit more in certain areas. And when I began to look at, I was like, oh, shit, I made my head. I was like, I'm I made, you know, a nice amount of money. And that's what I that's when I started focusing on how do I actually pay myself now?
00;22;01;13 - 00;22;01;27
Speaker 1
Sure.
00;22;02;02 - 00;22;15;27
Speaker 3
And once I figured that part out, I still I'm still figuring it out. But yeah, once I was able to sit down and say, okay, I can take this much, but I still need to replace this. That's why I became a little bit more clear for me.
00;22;16;04 - 00;22;17;24
Speaker 1
That's great.
00;22;17;27 - 00;22;18;04
Speaker 1
like.
00;22;18;09 - 00;22;20;13
Speaker 3
Like. What's your.
00;22;20;15 - 00;22;26;25
Speaker 3
How many shots that you got to.
00;22;26;27 - 00;22;36;09
Speaker 1
I mean, I've gotten to Eagle before. Eagle means two under. It's like a par five. Get three strokes in. Yeah, but it's been a while since I've had the eagle.
00;22;36;11 - 00;22;41;15
Speaker 3
Have you ever seen that dude? Have you on YouTube? You take it with one hand and one up to the ball?
00;22;41;17 - 00;22;46;22
Speaker 2
No. Yeah, yeah.
00;22;46;24 - 00;22;51;03
Speaker 3
Yeah, they kicked them out of a couple. Oh, because he was hitting over the net.
00;22;51;05 - 00;22;58;20
Speaker 1
That's crazy. He can do with one hand. It's hard enough with two hands.
00;22;58;22 - 00;23;01;26
Speaker 3
Have you ever. Have you ever like, little steps to do this?
00;23;01;29 - 00;23;03;00
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;23;03;02 - 00;23;08;27
Speaker 1
Yeah. You could get man, like 15,000 steps to an 18.
00;23;08;29 - 00;23;16;01
Speaker 1
And what? Some courses are longer than others. The longest course I ever walk. I'll never walk it again was eight miles. And that was a pain.
00;23;16;04 - 00;23;16;16
Speaker 3
What was this?
00;23;16;16 - 00;23;18;13
Speaker 1
It is an Iowa.
00;23;18;16 - 00;23;20;27
Speaker 1
We lost a guy like he quit early.
00;23;20;29 - 00;23;22;29
Speaker 3
No joke.
00;23;23;01 - 00;23;26;09
Speaker 3
How long did it take? The duration of the, course.
00;23;26;11 - 00;23;35;00
Speaker 1
Oh, that's like a five hour round. I mean, most rounds are supposed to be four and a half. But, you can get up to five. It's it's a longer course.
00;23;35;03 - 00;23;37;21
Speaker 2
what I got to ask you. Yeah.
00;23;37;24 - 00;23;41;17
Speaker 3
What's fun? This, company.
00;23;41;19 - 00;24;05;06
Speaker 1
I, so I went to university, Nebraska-Lincoln, and then I went around the world. I went to Austin, Texas. What's LA for the film industry? Well, back to Texas. And then I came back in 2016 to Omaha, and I got involved with the innovation community. I was the managing director of Silicon Prairie News and Big Omaha, which is an innovation conference.
00;24;05;08 - 00;24;26;15
Speaker 1
And, got plugged in and got really excited about, you know, connecting entrepreneurs because in other places like Austin, Texas, if you got a business idea, there's places for you to go and be around other people and get support. Yeah. And it exists here in Omaha, Nebraska and Lincoln. But the little harder to find and people don't know about them as much.
00;24;26;15 - 00;24;57;05
Speaker 1
You know. Yeah. So the the mission is really to get people like minded individuals together, entrepreneurs, creatives, to kind of, you know, and we'll be teaching classes, different business things, you know, revenue generation, accounting, finance, legal stuff like that. But it's just kind of it's, a one stop shop for entrepreneurs to go where they can find, you know, they can find ideas, they can find people, they can find resources, and they can kind of get encouragement for each other.
00;24;57;07 - 00;24;58;17
Speaker 3
No, that's a that's a beautiful thing.
00;24;58;17 - 00;25;00;13
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;25;00;15 - 00;25;07;06
Speaker 3
I can tell you I've asked questions of some people. Yeah. Incorrect answers.
00;25;07;12 - 00;25;08;05
Speaker 2
Sure.
00;25;08;07 - 00;25;08;28
Speaker 3
Hitting it.
00;25;09;01 - 00;25;09;17
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;25;09;19 - 00;25;14;22
Speaker 3
Went off of, you know, other people philosophy. Yeah. And then what I learned is
00;25;14;25 - 00;25;17;22
Speaker 3
there's really no blueprint of business, but networking is everything.
00;25;17;27 - 00;25;18;27
Speaker 3
Sure. You know.
00;25;19;02 - 00;25;21;04
Speaker 1
Absolutely.
00;25;21;07 - 00;25;36;03
Speaker 3
I'm, I'm happy to be able to network nowadays because at first I used to get frustrated. It's like, man, like before I started. Yeah, I knew somebody who had, like a brand and I was offered no money to talk to. And I think they, I think they.
00;25;36;05 - 00;25;36;15
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;25;36;22 - 00;25;42;03
Speaker 3
I think they thought I was trying to steal something from them. Oh they, they wouldn't, they weren't interesting.
00;25;42;03 - 00;25;55;08
Speaker 1
Yeah. Well that's kind of the ideas that help each other out, you know what I mean? Like, because a lot of times someone else has had a problem and you could learn from their mistakes, you know, like what what what what struggles did you have? And then, you know, we could all learn from that as a group.
00;25;55;11 - 00;25;55;27
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;25;55;27 - 00;25;57;14
Speaker 3
So
00;25;57;16 - 00;26;01;11
Speaker 1
I like this series. What are those shoes they like?
00;26;01;13 - 00;26;02;14
Speaker 2
Those are nice.
00;26;02;16 - 00;26;03;20
Speaker 3
It's like walking on saying, oh.
00;26;03;20 - 00;26;05;16
Speaker 1
I got say, is that comfortable? Yeah.
00;26;05;18 - 00;26;07;25
Speaker 3
you ever you ever feel like coach?
00;26;07;28 - 00;26;14;21
Speaker 1
No, no. Thank God no. I know somebody has a lot of houses get hit. Golf courses?
00;26;14;22 - 00;26;15;15
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;26;15;18 - 00;26;17;10
Speaker 1
I've seen a lot of people hit houses.
00;26;17;13 - 00;26;18;20
Speaker 3
I watched,
00;26;18;22 - 00;26;21;24
Speaker 3
I won the PGA. I was, I figured watching play.
00;26;21;27 - 00;26;27;00
Speaker 3
It was a YouTube video before they hit the ball. Same time a bird flew by. That crazy.
00;26;27;02 - 00;26;27;20
Speaker 2
Hill.
00;26;27;22 - 00;26;28;23
Speaker 1
Right in the bird.
00;26;28;25 - 00;26;29;24
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;26;29;26 - 00;26;32;02
Speaker 1
did an SNL skit. You ever watch Saturday Night Live?
00;26;32;04 - 00;26;33;02
Speaker 3
Oh, yeah.
00;26;33;05 - 00;26;39;02
Speaker 1
They did one with neighbor was a neighbor gets he hears somebody and he's like, yeah.
00;26;39;05 - 00;26;39;16
Speaker 2
I forgot what.
00;26;39;16 - 00;26;46;11
Speaker 1
The thing was. But the first thing he did is hit a bird and then he hit the bird's nest. It was like this whole thing. It just kept evolving.
00;26;46;13 - 00;26;54;18
Speaker 3
I got it to show, you know, lady, her name is Amber Ruffin.
00;26;54;20 - 00;26;58;28
Speaker 2
Oh, really? I didn't know that. Yeah.
00;26;59;01 - 00;27;01;14
Speaker 1
She on the Seth Meyers show or what is she?
00;27;01;16 - 00;27;02;29
Speaker 3
She's a writer. And then she have.
00;27;03;00 - 00;27;05;05
Speaker 2
Oh. Okay.
00;27;05;08 - 00;27;06;28
Speaker 3
So. So it. Come on. Peacock.
00;27;07;00 - 00;27;07;19
Speaker 2

00;27;07;22 - 00;27;09;18
Speaker 3
Amber Ruffin, late night with Amber Ruffin.
00;27;09;20 - 00;27;10;21
Speaker 1
No kidding.
00;27;10;23 - 00;27;27;05
Speaker 3
She also is funny because her sister seen a Facebook post reached out to me. Yeah, she was, during the Emmys, and she wanted, one of my pyramid back. But, you know, those red carpets, you got to have super small bags.
00;27;27;10 - 00;27;28;07
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00;27;28;09 - 00;27;31;03
Speaker 3
I ended up making a little small tier.
00;27;31;03 - 00;27;32;00
Speaker 1
Me no kidding.
00;27;32;07 - 00;27;34;25
Speaker 3
But then they do so many, wardrobe changes.
00;27;35;00 - 00;27;35;23
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;27;35;25 - 00;27;47;09
Speaker 3
She wore it all around the Emmys, but then she, rewrote The Wiz and, opened up on Broadway in New York. Yeah. So she, it's pictures of her with the bag.
00;27;47;12 - 00;27;48;11
Speaker 1
That's great, man.
00;27;48;14 - 00;27;48;28
Speaker 2
Hell, yeah.
00;27;49;05 - 00;27;56;25
Speaker 3
But come to find out, it was. It was fun. Hey, you know, my sister, you know, it's like you're on your back. I'm like, you know, we all got a phone.
00;27;56;29 - 00;27;57;13
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;27;57;16 - 00;28;03;28
Speaker 3
And as we talking, we get talking about, like, being from Omaha, where we grew up at. Yeah. I'm like, you literally grew up a block away from me.
00;28;04;00 - 00;28;05;25
Speaker 1
No kidding. That close?
00;28;05;27 - 00;28;08;03
Speaker 3
I was like, the six degrees of separation.
00;28;08;03 - 00;28;08;17
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;28;08;18 - 00;28;23;28
Speaker 3
You know, so that's pretty cool. But she like, reworked the with is a play going on now. Well, it was in the in the last month, but at the, Omaha Performance Art theater. So there's a lot of good a lot of good people.
00;28;24;01 - 00;28;28;15
Speaker 1
That's cool man. Yeah. It's like we need to get the word out about stuff like that. Yeah
00;28;28;17 - 00;28;30;27
Speaker 3
You watch, backing it up.
00;28;31;00 - 00;28;33;20
Speaker 1
Oh yeah.
00;28;33;23 - 00;28;41;23
Speaker 1
Especially with, but Crawford here now, to be honest, I, I try to watch his fights, but when we watch, other than that.
00;28;41;25 - 00;28;47;19
Speaker 3
Yeah, I'm a big fan, but, but I probably go out to the fight to be Canelo.
00;28;47;19 - 00;28;52;18
Speaker 1
Man wins it. Yeah. Wins his next fight September.
00;28;52;21 - 00;28;55;21
Speaker 3
Yeah. Canelo fall last night but it was it.
00;28;55;23 - 00;28;56;25
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;28;56;28 - 00;28;59;16
Speaker 3
The guy he just ran all day.
00;28;59;18 - 00;29;01;28
Speaker 3
But yeah he they're going to fight in Vegas. Him and Canelo.
00;29;02;01 - 00;29;02;12
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;29;02;18 - 00;29;08;18
Speaker 1
For undisputed that's going to be great. His fights are so fun to watch.
00;29;08;21 - 00;29;12;05
Speaker 3
You know he actually wasn't one. But he's the reason I stopped doing it.
00;29;12;08 - 00;29;14;12
Speaker 2
Yeah. Yeah because he's.
00;29;14;14 - 00;29;21;23
Speaker 3
He's like man you really you want to get pay. You want to get paid to get kicked in the face. You can make more money just throwing punches.
00;29;21;26 - 00;29;22;19
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;29;22;21 - 00;29;27;20
Speaker 3
I'm like I come down to the gym. So this before he had his own gym.
00;29;27;22 - 00;29;28;25
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;29;28;27 - 00;29;30;13
Speaker 1
The train with Bud Crawford.
00;29;30;15 - 00;29;31;07
Speaker 3
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
00;29;31;08 - 00;29;32;00
Speaker 1
Nice.
00;29;32;02 - 00;29;45;12
Speaker 3
He, I tried with him before his first. Before he had it. He got his first bill. Yeah. Against, Ricky Burns down at the CW boxing gym. Omaha.
00;29;45;15 - 00;29;45;23
Speaker 2
But.
00;29;45;23 - 00;29;48;10
Speaker 3
I've been on them first.
00;29;48;13 - 00;29;54;00
Speaker 1
Yeah. You know, there was a kid when I was in high school as a kid that boxed named Grover Wylie.
00;29;54;05 - 00;29;54;19
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;29;54;23 - 00;29;56;10
Speaker 1
You heard his name? Yeah.
00;29;56;12 - 00;29;58;15
Speaker 3
Yeah. Go. Yeah. Grover. He's still around, too.
00;29;58;16 - 00;30;08;00
Speaker 1
No kidding? Yeah. He was a year older than me, and, I know he went off and did. Did good things, too. Oh, yeah. So that's pretty cool.
00;30;08;03 - 00;30;16;18
Speaker 3
I'm, I'm happy that, But he's what they're doing now. He remain in Omaha because it gives, you know, people in Nebraska.
00;30;16;18 - 00;30;23;11
Speaker 1
What I love how he refs this. You know, like everywhere he goes, he's always sporting something or saying something that's that's really cool.
00;30;23;14 - 00;30;27;02
Speaker 3
So he got it back too.
00;30;27;04 - 00;30;27;20
Speaker 2
Yeah. Yeah.
00;30;27;22 - 00;30;29;02
Speaker 3
He got a backpack.
00;30;29;05 - 00;30;30;14
Speaker 1
Well like his design here.
00;30;30;14 - 00;30;32;21
Speaker 3
Design my design. But I put his logo on that.
00;30;32;26 - 00;30;35;03
Speaker 1
Oh, nice. Hell yeah.
00;30;35;05 - 00;30;37;01
Speaker 1
How did you run into him?
00;30;37;04 - 00;30;38;08
Speaker 3
Oh, we grew up together.
00;30;38;11 - 00;30;40;07
Speaker 2
Okay. Yeah.
00;30;40;10 - 00;30;46;23
Speaker 3
And then his dad and my dad wrestled each other back in high school. His mom, my mom.
00;30;46;26 - 00;30;47;24
Speaker 1
So
00;30;47;27 - 00;30;49;19
Speaker 1
I wrestled for two years in junior high.
00;30;49;20 - 00;30;51;01
Speaker 2
Yeah. You know.
00;30;51;04 - 00;30;58;11
Speaker 1
You know, I was more. I was more of a football player, so I don't know why I got out of it. I was never that good at it. Probably. I probably that's why I got out of it.
00;30;58;14 - 00;31;03;15
Speaker 3
That that's one of the sports that in boxing for me, you can't plan.
00;31;03;17 - 00;31;03;28
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;31;03;29 - 00;31;06;29
Speaker 3
You know those. Yeah. Yeah, I like them.
00;31;07;02 - 00;31;07;22
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00;31;07;25 - 00;31;13;12
Speaker 1
And you're into the finer things in life. Let me tell you about these clubs. These are Japanese, golf clubs called mirror
00;31;13;19 - 00;31;23;15
Speaker 1
So these are like hand, hand, hand made in Japan. So, and I don't know if you hit a good one. That just feels like butter. For these, I don't know if you felt that or not, but.
00;31;23;18 - 00;31;25;26
Speaker 3
Yeah, that that one, that last.
00;31;25;29 - 00;31;27;10
Speaker 1
It's cool. Yeah.
00;31;27;12 - 00;31;28;24
Speaker 3
Have you been to Japan?
00;31;28;26 - 00;31;30;02
Speaker 1
I have never been to Japan. No.
00;31;30;02 - 00;31;32;13
Speaker 3
Of you know, I want to go.
00;31;32;16 - 00;31;38;00
Speaker 1
I've never been to Asia. I've been all over Europe, South America, but never been to Asia.
00;31;38;02 - 00;31;40;19
Speaker 3
I want to I want to go, to Shanghai.
00;31;40;21 - 00;31;41;13
Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah.
00;31;41;13 - 00;31;42;29
Speaker 3
They said it's beautiful.
00;31;43;01 - 00;31;43;06
Speaker 1
The.
00;31;43;07 - 00;31;51;00
Speaker 3
So I have a friend has got a place of my in Thailand and he she goes the boutique down down to Omaha. So I got to come.
00;31;51;02 - 00;31;54;00
Speaker 3
What's your favorite spot in Europe?
00;31;54;02 - 00;31;56;11
Speaker 1
You know, I spent a lot of time in nice, south of France.
00;31;56;14 - 00;31;57;11
Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's.
00;31;57;11 - 00;32;04;00
Speaker 1
Where I learn French, actually. So that's my favorite spot. But, yeah I do.
00;32;04;03 - 00;32;07;24
Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah. You have, I'm tired, I'm tired.
00;32;07;24 - 00;32;13;15
Speaker 3
I learned more because I actually got to go over there. I fly to Neath,
00;32;13;18 - 00;32;15;02
Speaker 2
On a you find underneath.
00;32;15;03 - 00;32;15;29
Speaker 1
Yeah. Nice.
00;32;16;00 - 00;32;20;04
Speaker 3
Yeah. And then, because the 78, it's been a festival.
00;32;20;06 - 00;32;28;28
Speaker 1
You have a can in, in this or are you going to Ken. Yeah I gotcha got you got. Yeah. Good for you, man. That's awesome.
00;32;29;00 - 00;32;34;01
Speaker 3
Do the red carpet and then I go over to Monte Carlo for another fashion show. And the sales.
00;32;34;04 - 00;32;38;09
Speaker 1
Hell yeah. Hell yeah. I'm jealous.
00;32;38;12 - 00;32;46;13
Speaker 3
What surprised me most about Europe is how they drive. Yeah, yeah, I'm. I was the fuze. Like they we even out of each other.
00;32;46;15 - 00;32;47;04
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;32;47;07 - 00;32;49;07
Speaker 3
They got around each other. I was like there.
00;32;49;10 - 00;32;51;18
Speaker 1
Did you, were you. Do you rent a car. Well you over there.
00;32;51;21 - 00;32;52;15
Speaker 3
No no no no no no.
00;32;52;16 - 00;32;54;26
Speaker 2
Oh.
00;32;54;29 - 00;32;59;03
Speaker 3
Quite my yeah I call it my mentor.
00;32;59;06 - 00;32;59;29
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;33;00;04 - 00;33;08;00
Speaker 3
My name is Tiffany. She, she actually, she it was. A few people have reached out to me to do international shows.
00;33;08;03 - 00;33;08;21
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00;33;08;23 - 00;33;18;09
Speaker 3
And, I don't know something about her, which is different, and I. I trusted her, and ever since then, you know, she's been a gateway to a lot of my success.
00;33;18;16 - 00;33;20;02
Speaker 1
No kidding. Yeah,
00;33;20;05 - 00;33;22;11
Speaker 1
just helping make connections and stuff or.
00;33;22;13 - 00;33;25;28
Speaker 3
Yeah. So she. So she is a designer herself.
00;33;26;00 - 00;33;27;07
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;33;27;10 - 00;33;33;05
Speaker 3
And then she started, she started, international shows for emerging designer.
00;33;33;09 - 00;33;34;02
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00;33;34;05 - 00;33;46;09
Speaker 3
And so she started she did one in New York, Paris, Dubai, London, Monaco. And so she'd been doing it for like 15 years.
00;33;46;09 - 00;33;46;19
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;33;46;26 - 00;33;58;28
Speaker 3
And, my very first, my very first international show was in 2023, in Dubai. And then, I didn't know how I was gonna go because I only so I did prior to that was a short kind of city.
00;33;59;00 - 00;34;00;11
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;34;00;13 - 00;34;02;28
Speaker 3
So in Los Angeles.
00;34;03;00 - 00;34;21;00
Speaker 3
And the worlds are two different. There's two different shows because you got your boutique, you know, more intimate shows. Then you got those bigger shows. Sure. And so I didn't know how long to go, but she was like, you had a you had a very good show, but you put together the way you chose your models is as far as who walk first.
00;34;21;00 - 00;34;25;29
Speaker 3
Who walk last. Yeah. And she's like, yeah, no, I think you should come over to,
00;34;26;04 - 00;34;26;16
Speaker 3
France.
00;34;26;23 - 00;34;27;13
Speaker 2
Hell yeah.
00;34;27;15 - 00;34;41;21
Speaker 3
Okay, I do that. And then she say, now you can go to Paris. She said, because I want to go to Paris. But when I come to pairs, they don't have a follow. You sure they haven't been to, you know.
00;34;41;23 - 00;34;42;11
Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah.
00;34;42;11 - 00;34;51;15
Speaker 3
Other places in New York and things like this. And so when I was the Paris, I was surprised because when I come in, people like, hey, you know, American designer like, yeah, you.
00;34;51;17 - 00;34;51;21
Speaker 2
Know.
00;34;51;25 - 00;34;52;19
Speaker 3
And then,
00;34;52;21 - 00;34;53;09
Speaker 1
That's great.
00;34;53;09 - 00;34;57;08
Speaker 3
They want they want pictures. They want to, you know, talk to you. They want to follow you. I think that is, you know.
00;34;57;08 - 00;34;59;00
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;34;59;03 - 00;35;03;08
Speaker 3
That openly that that's what really opened me up to say, okay, this thing is moving.
00;35;03;15 - 00;35;04;01
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;35;04;04 - 00;35;18;17
Speaker 3
And I always thought I was doing the wrong thing because I was looking at the money first. And, you can't go look at, like, you know, brand awareness. Sure. You know, share your name out there. What are you going to do when your name is out there? Yeah, because the money's going to come.
00;35;18;21 - 00;35;19;09
Speaker 2
Yeah. If you.
00;35;19;09 - 00;35;21;17
Speaker 3
Want the money right now, you know, you're not looking for longevity.
00;35;21;21 - 00;35;22;02
Speaker 2
Right?
00;35;22;02 - 00;35;26;21
Speaker 3
Right, right. And so she educated me on because I didn't go to school for fast. I went to school for business.
00;35;26;26 - 00;35;27;07
Speaker 2
Right.
00;35;27;14 - 00;35;47;18
Speaker 3
You know, so she educated me on the business of fashion. And like I say, since then, it's been it's been a beautiful, beautiful journey because I meet people, guys all across the world. You know, I wake up to, you know, messages from on Instagram or WhatsApp, and it's somebody that takes me nine hours to go. Yeah, because they sleep in Dubai, you.
00;35;47;25 - 00;35;48;29
Speaker 2
Know, it's. Yeah.
00;35;49;02 - 00;35;53;00
Speaker 3
It's, is very, very pleasant to
00;35;53;03 - 00;35;54;08
Speaker 3
like, had other interactions.
00;35;54;12 - 00;35;54;21
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;35;54;21 - 00;35;58;08
Speaker 3
But then to begin to learn a little bit of it like we just enough to say.
00;35;58;08 - 00;35;59;20
Speaker 2
How serious this,
00;35;59;23 - 00;36;01;10
Speaker 3
People were like four different languages.
00;36;01;13 - 00;36;01;26
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;36;01;26 - 00;36;02;27
Speaker 3
That's as far as I will get.
00;36;03;02 - 00;36;04;06
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;36;04;09 - 00;36;06;15
Speaker 1
So how did you make that connection?
00;36;06;18 - 00;36;12;08
Speaker 3
So, truth is, I make it clear I had to come out to Phoenix, Arizona to do my brand awareness, my marketing, my.
00;36;12;09 - 00;36;13;26
Speaker 2
Yeah. Online. Yeah.
00;36;13;26 - 00;36;21;04
Speaker 3
And, I kept just getting all the people from central South America. And I'm like, I'm in Omaha. I meet people here first.
00;36;21;06 - 00;36;36;12
Speaker 3
I looked at what they were doing and I decided, okay, this was the money part came in, I can sell this product right now. And I started selling a product, but I would go to people, I want to make a patient. I would say, hey, I'm going to deliver to you. I want to take a do. I want to take a picture?
00;36;36;14 - 00;36;36;24
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;36;36;24 - 00;36;49;16
Speaker 3
Which which a product. Sure. And I started posting that and I started seeing the reactions of people go, yeah. And then I started seeing, people from overseas reach out to me, hey, we have this show. We think you be great.
00;36;49;19 - 00;36;50;06
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;36;50;08 - 00;37;07;15
Speaker 3
You know, the leather, we love the quality, etc., etc., etc. and then I woke up one day to anybody from Tiffany and her approach was different. And you know she told me you talked to me about the. So she's talking about how she wrote a DCC autobiography of her. And I read the book and you read the story, it talks about current.
00;37;07;22 - 00;37;31;26
Speaker 3
You give me a different way when, when you read it from the beginning. Yeah. And when you read it from the back, it talks about her upbringing to where she's that now. Yeah. I was like that was different to me and stuck out. And, she also stated contact with me stayed on. Sure. You know, and she cultivated, I say, more than I did because I was a little bit hesitant to write it, but, she kept talking to me day in and day out.
00;37;31;26 - 00;37;40;24
Speaker 3
And before I knew it, I'm on a plane by myself to JFK and then my to a 12 hour flight to me. Like, this is crazy.
00;37;40;26 - 00;37;43;02
Speaker 1
That is amazing.
00;37;43;04 - 00;37;44;18
Speaker 1
And where does she live?
00;37;44;21 - 00;37;50;22
Speaker 3
You live in, Minto, Wisconsin? No, south of France.
00;37;50;24 - 00;37;52;15
Speaker 1
Oh, she's from France?
00;37;52;17 - 00;37;54;27
Speaker 3
No. Ironically, she actually from mobile, Alabama.
00;37;54;29 - 00;37;56;18
Speaker 1
Oh, really? But she lives over in France.
00;37;56;22 - 00;38;01;07
Speaker 3
She lived she she she had her mom emancipated when she was 16.
00;38;01;09 - 00;38;02;14
Speaker 1
Wow.
00;38;02;16 - 00;38;03;24
Speaker 3
But yeah, it was interesting.
00;38;03;29 - 00;38;13;03
Speaker 1
Yeah. Tell me about it. Because that seems like like an unreal place on some pictures. You know, it seems like, you know, Vegas used to be like that was larger than life. Yeah. That's like Vegas 10 to 10.
00;38;13;07 - 00;38;19;20
Speaker 3
Yeah, man. It's it's really beautiful. And I got to tell tennis like, y'all need to go out there one day.
00;38;19;25 - 00;38;20;05
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;38;20;09 - 00;38;28;14
Speaker 3
Because it's a beautiful country for people. Oh, like they connect you sure. Connecting you.
00;38;28;16 - 00;38;28;23
Speaker 2
Well.
00;38;28;24 - 00;38;31;28
Speaker 3
No matter where you go. Was always, like, networking going on.
00;38;32;04 - 00;38;33;27
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;38;34;00 - 00;38;35;10
Speaker 3
They really love America.
00;38;35;13 - 00;38;37;10
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;38;37;12 - 00;38;45;25
Speaker 3
But it's beautiful, man. I just don't understand the architecture. The architecture and how they always. Hey, we gotta go back. They build something new.
00;38;45;27 - 00;38;48;12
Speaker 2
Yeah, and they build fast. Yeah.
00;38;48;15 - 00;38;57;09
Speaker 3
But I love it because I would say that the thing I like most about the bus is the service that you receive, no matter where you go.
00;38;57;12 - 00;38;58;09
Speaker 1
Always top notch.
00;38;58;16 - 00;39;03;19
Speaker 3
Yeah man. It's like going to the.
00;39;03;22 - 00;39;04;13
Speaker 3
Top ten.
00;39;04;15 - 00;39;12;24
Speaker 1
Yeah. Every time everywhere you go That's really great. I mean it seems like they just strive for excellence in everything you know. Yeah
00;39;12;26 - 00;39;21;10
Speaker 3
And I would say for anybody going, man, this you just got to experience Dubai.
00;39;21;12 - 00;39;23;28
Speaker 2
Yeah. You know. Yeah.
00;39;24;00 - 00;39;26;09
Speaker 3
The culture. Beautiful. The food is amazing.
00;39;26;12 - 00;39;28;12
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;39;28;14 - 00;39;31;13
Speaker 2
Favorite place in South America?
00;39;31;16 - 00;39;38;14
Speaker 1
You know, I never stayed there a lot. I, I worked at the airlines for a while, so it was mainly just a layover. So I went to Belize.
00;39;38;16 - 00;39;39;05
Speaker 3
Oh, not. Yeah.
00;39;39;05 - 00;39;47;12
Speaker 1
Yeah. I used to be a, I see a French interpreting, flight attendant. Oh, yeah. That's why, let's say I learned French in these.
00;39;47;14 - 00;39;51;19
Speaker 3
Yeah. I started as, ramp agent.
00;39;51;21 - 00;39;52;05
Speaker 2
Oh, yeah?
00;39;52;09 - 00;39;52;21
Speaker 3
Yeah.
00;39;52;24 - 00;39;53;09
Speaker 1
Here in Omaha.
00;39;53;13 - 00;39;54;04
Speaker 2
Yep. Now.
00;39;54;07 - 00;39;57;11
Speaker 1
Oh, yeah. Which company? American. American. Okay.
00;39;57;14 - 00;40;10;19
Speaker 3
And, I took one trip in 2015 to Maui, and, something happened. We went with the plane, and so I got stuck there for a week. I mean, it's not bad.
00;40;10;21 - 00;40;15;03
Speaker 1
Because it's stuck in Maui for a week.
00;40;15;05 - 00;40;17;11
Speaker 1
I mean, but if I still want to get home at the same time.
00;40;17;11 - 00;40;21;09
Speaker 3
But I think I think the max, I could be going somewhere like two weeks.
00;40;21;11 - 00;40;22;03
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;40;22;06 - 00;40;23;15
Speaker 1
Yeah,
00;40;23;17 - 00;40;26;20
Speaker 3
but I was like, man, I never I never taken,
00;40;26;23 - 00;40;28;11
Speaker 3
nothing. But he said with the companionship.
00;40;28;12 - 00;40;29;11
Speaker 2
I like,
00;40;29;14 - 00;40;31;22
Speaker 1
Company best. Oh, yeah.
00;40;31;25 - 00;40;33;29
Speaker 3
But they never told me that you could,
00;40;34;02 - 00;40;36;14
Speaker 3
just go to another airline and pay, like. Oh.
00;40;36;16 - 00;40;37;11
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00;40;37;13 - 00;40;38;25
Speaker 3
So I found that out on the last day.
00;40;39;01 - 00;40;41;11
Speaker 2
Okay.
00;40;41;13 - 00;40;43;17
Speaker 3
Where do you stand in and belief?
00;40;43;19 - 00;41;03;22
Speaker 1
I don't even remember, man. You know, I was in, like, a million hotels a year, so kind of. It's hard to remember, I tell you. Then. That was like my first few years when I was still junior. But then I started doing a regular routes to Paris, Geneva, Brussels. So that's. Those are the places I went to the most.
00;41;03;24 - 00;41;05;14
Speaker 3
Would you ever live over it?
00;41;05;14 - 00;41;22;04
Speaker 1
And I would consider it. Yeah. I really like the lifestyle. I mean, you know, laid back that, they enjoy socializing. Yeah. You know, to take living a little more seriously, you know what I mean? As opposed to just working.
00;41;22;06 - 00;41;28;24
Speaker 3
I did notice that when I went to Paris, I was like, man, like, like for 30, everybody. I'm like.
00;41;28;26 - 00;41;30;20
Speaker 2
Yeah, know, I know.
00;41;30;21 - 00;41;33;15
Speaker 3
I do like, you know, like how to how to be outside and walk a.
00;41;33;15 - 00;41;34;15
Speaker 2
Lot. Yeah.
00;41;34;18 - 00;41;35;02
Speaker 3
I like.
00;41;35;02 - 00;41;36;25
Speaker 2
That. Yeah.
00;41;36;27 - 00;41;53;24
Unknown
I. Jerry, we just finished the nine holes. Yeah, we did pretty good. Thank you. Yeah, I want to kind of follow up on some of those questions, like, you know, what would you say were some of the biggest struggles you had, early on, like, maybe when you didn't quite know if it was going to work or, like what?
00;41;53;25 - 00;42;18;13
Unknown
What are the struggles that you went through early on? I think the biggest struggle that I went through, was understanding finance, being self invested, you can easily just pour a lot of money into something, and, you know, not know exactly. What are we turning on. Confirm. So that was one of my biggest struggle because I didn't primarily focus on, the finance part.
00;42;18;15 - 00;42;45;09
Unknown
I just knew what I wanted to do and I was willing to put money towards it. Another struggle was, understanding branding. I didn't know, I knew I knew social media to be my platform. So, you know, what is Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter, whatever it is, I just felt like if you come to my page, you had to see the brand.
00;42;45;11 - 00;43;02;15
Unknown
But how could I spread it. You know. So it is not only myself and you. Sure. You know I think another one of the biggest, challenges that I faced and I was to, I would say I was to kind of say is,
00;43;02;17 - 00;43;06;11
Unknown
Marketing. And I say that because.
00;43;06;13 - 00;43;29;10
Unknown
You know, being e-commerce, you looking at that? I always looked at it as the it is the w w w the world internet, you know, I mean, the World Wide Web. And so, you know, wanting to be global when I think about it, you have the UK market the same way in America that you do a French, you know, France if you do Dubai, Dubai if you were marketing, you know, Central or South America.
00;43;29;13 - 00;43;57;12
Unknown
So it's understanding, you know, what will get be this group of people or this population of people to. Yeah. Towards a, you know, product or whatnot. So I think that still something that is a challenge. Yeah. Because you know from afar you, you really can't tell, you know how this, this population of people operate. So I think that's something I still I'm, I'm still working out.
00;43;57;14 - 00;44;24;23
Unknown
Yeah, I think I for sure you use AI in your business. So, starting to now. Yeah. This is something I've been working on. Well, with, with the help of a couple of individuals, I will become part of my website. It will become part of, marketing strategy for advertising. What? What part of the world is most interested in your brands right now?
00;44;24;25 - 00;44;46;25
Unknown
America. Dubai. I would say those those right now, that's the biggest. Yeah. I have other interests from other from other parts of the world, but by far, I would say American. Yeah. What would be your advice to someone that is thinking about starting a business? Maybe they've got a job and they they don't quite know what it's going to take to make the leap.
00;44;46;25 - 00;44;56;16
Unknown
What would be your advice to someone like that? Oh, I think my, my, the first part of that would be
00;44;56;19 - 00;45;12;24
Unknown
to not walk away from a job too early. Because I know people will say, you know, don't put all your eggs in one basket or you know, you don't even have a plan B. Yeah. But you know having that cushion sure to where you are still able to pay bills.
00;45;12;25 - 00;45;32;03
Unknown
Yeah. But live a comfortable life. But at the same time you are able to, at least on your own, begin to invest. Yeah. Because you can gauge and see is it something that's going to be viable or is it something I need to pull it back? Yeah. So that was my first piece of advice is to, you know, not not walk away.
00;45;32;03 - 00;45;43;07
Unknown
So sure. And then the second part would be understand how to leverage, you know, having a job versus being 100% entrepreneur because
00;45;43;10 - 00;45;53;09
Unknown
like me, like the self, business will not come with plenty of it. Also. Sure. Yeah. So, I would definitely I would definitely say,
00;45;53;11 - 00;46;01;23
Unknown
again, not walk away early, but at the same time have a strategy as to, you know, when and how and what's going to go out.
00;46;01;25 - 00;46;28;27
Unknown
Yeah. You know, that's the biggest thing for me is, is the strategy part because I didn't have a strategy. You know, I kind of took things as they came. And, I'm thankful for every single thing that happened, both good and bad. Because it was lessons in all of it. But for me the strategy and you know, understanding when it went, when is it necessary.
00;46;29;00 - 00;46;37;15
Unknown
Because I know some people that still have a, you know regular day job and have a business. But sometimes the government the road. Yeah.
00;46;37;17 - 00;46;50;24
Unknown
what about looking into the future. What what do you hope to accomplish. But where is your brand going in the next let's say 1 to 5 years. So my my my goal for the next 1 to 5 years I would say even the next 1 to 1 to 2 to 3 years.
00;46;50;24 - 00;47;16;20
Unknown
Yeah. Is definitely having a is definitely opening the first flagship store. And the reason why I want to do that is because I feel like when I'm, if it's America, it's America, if it's a different country, a different country. But the way I see it is when I, if I go somewhere and I leave, I want to leave my mark there, you know, so that like,
00;47;16;22 - 00;47;24;00
Unknown
You know, somebody leaving, they say, sir, do you have a place? What city would you put it in?
00;47;24;02 - 00;47;41;27
Unknown
Right now, at this very moment, if I was to open, if I was the no. All the stars aligned, it would definitely be bad. Yeah, of course, it would definitely be Dubai. If I if it was America, of course. You know, you want to do something at home. Yeah. But,
00;47;41;29 - 00;47;46;07
Unknown
Dubai to what's on your travel calendar coming up here.
00;47;46;10 - 00;48;12;07
Unknown
So, I'm gonna take a short vacation, to Oklahoma, about four days time, and then, I'll return, and then I'm headed over to, France to the south of France. Yeah, it's a nice. Right? Yep. Yeah. Ago. And then the Cannes. Yeah. Had the 78th Cannes film Festival. Yeah. Are you, are you going there, as a designer or are you going there as a participant and just a viewer?
00;48;12;09 - 00;48;20;14
Unknown
Yeah. So, I'm actually, actually walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. That's great. And as a designer. Yeah.
00;48;20;17 - 00;48;36;21
Unknown
I'll be headed over to Monaco to see Carlo. We have a show. Yeah. There. And I also have, a small boutique set up for sales, so, it's. Yeah, that sounds awesome. Is work, but, I'll find a way to have a little bit of fun.
00;48;36;21 - 00;48;43;08
Unknown
Yeah, I'll try to. You follow me on social media when you head there. Oh, yeah. I'll. I'll do a whole bunch of posting. Yeah, well,
00;48;43;15 - 00;48;47;01
Unknown
I love everything that the company is doing for it.
00;48;47;01 - 00;49;11;16
Unknown
And, and and they invite. Yeah. You know, I like the golf, peaceful. Yeah. Well, you know, like, I think there's a lot of analogies between sports and business. Golf in particular. It's such a hard sport, right? Yeah. You know what I mean? It takes a lot of discipline. Takes a lot. A lot of thinking. Yeah. You know, so I think, it gives me a break, but it also kind of like, helps reset some of those skills.
00;49;11;16 - 00;49;17;13
Unknown
So and plus you know, we got to have fun too. It can't be all business. Right? Right. You know what I mean? And,

because I know you in the book some of the Blues, the book that I'm currently reading right now is, called Balanced Balance. Yeah, yeah. And, it's not the balanced that everybody would think it would be, sir.
00;49;29;03 - 00;49;50;16
Unknown
Just like one quick thing. Well, I'm going to say about the third chapter, the author talks about him and his wife taking a road trip, and, and both of them looking over at the on the highway at, husband and wife. And it's turned everything was in sync. It they did and I look at each other, it's like we got to get bikes.
00;49;50;19 - 00;50;07;24
Unknown
Well, they say they talk about the time begin to get away conversation slow down. But he would still so you know like matter of fact about I have the bike. Yeah. He ended up getting the bike but the wife did and he took his rides and he was like man is everything I thought I was going to be.
00;50;07;27 - 00;50;29;10
Unknown
But he was missing his partner. But then he you know talk to her and to jump on the back of the bike and ride it. And so she told him it's not my thing. But when you come home you more attentive to me to the. Sure. You overall better. Yeah. You know. So don't stop that because.
00;50;29;12 - 00;50;43;20
Unknown
Yeah. You. But that's part of his balance. Gotcha. Like as a spectator we watch the sport. Yeah I watch golf sometime like my, my, my father is a big golfer. Yeah. But,
00;50;43;22 - 00;50;51;12
Unknown
It look easy. Yeah. I know right. It is not easy. Right. But I could definitely see this being,
00;50;51;15 - 00;51;02;17
Unknown
Is a strong possibility to become part of what? I am sure. One nice thing about golf is it? It's a lifelong journey. You can play till your tee can't walk anymore, right? So you can play for a while.
00;51;02;19 - 00;51;20;19
Unknown
Whereas, you know, things like basketball, you know, football, etc. it gets a little tough in a certain age but keeps you competitive, keeps you sharp. I think it's a great, great idea. You you mentioned you wanted a book recommendation for me. You said something when you mentioned a book balance, reminded me of a book called The Power of Full Engagement.
00;51;20;22 - 00;51;41;21
Unknown
And what what they mean there is like, you got to be fully engaged in what you're doing. But in order to be fully engaged, you have to fully disengage for a period of time to get yourself recharge. So it's something like, you know, playing golf or something is disengaging from what you're, you know, doing all the time. Because if you're fully engaged all the time, your body, your mind can't sustain that.
00;51;41;21 - 00;51;54;18
Unknown
Yeah. And it's kind of like you talked about, you do something for yourself and that recharges you. It makes you better when you come back. Right. So that's powerful engagement. Yeah. I'm I think that book I think my favorite book and this is a classic. You ever read a book called The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People?
00;51;54;20 - 00;52;01;23
Unknown
Yeah, that's one of my favorites of all time. If you ever read that, I would definitely read. I haven't, you know, I, I got stuck on,
00;52;01;25 - 00;52;15;20
Unknown
I can't remember right now. Yeah. That book, you know, so, extreme ownership. Oh, sure. I got stuck on those two books. And then the other extreme ownership. I like that that idea in that concept. What's that about?
00;52;15;23 - 00;52;48;21
Unknown
Pretty much there. There's a so there was, American soldiers who were training at soldiers. The friendly fires, situation occurred and it never should have happened. And now the, the general over that, specifically, if I'm saying it correctly, that over that specific fortune now had to cease, you know, his court martial, and everybody's trying to put the story together.
00;52;48;23 - 00;53;15;26
Unknown
Well, you know who's going to be the blame for this? So. Yeah. Yeah, sure. And, the main the head guy in the courtroom, you know, stood up and said, hey, I'll take full responsibility for everything that happened. You know, these are my guys. And so it does not matter what happened at the end of the day, it was a funny fight as a waste to, you know, troops that we were trying and there's no excuse behind it.
00;53;15;29 - 00;53;41;14
Unknown
Yeah. And in the book you talk about how the the course was taken back, but they said we had never seen nobody take that kind of accountability, ownership for such a terrible and tragic situation. Yeah. And, because of that, he actually became a higher rank and, read that book for me, it was all about a kind of book.
00;53;41;17 - 00;53;55;06
Unknown
being able to be 100% accountable and 100, 100% responsible for the things that you do, the things that you say. You know, that's what I took from me. And so I try to be and I would nobody's perfect but I try to, I try to, you know my, my character.
00;53;55;08 - 00;54;13;10
Unknown
Yeah. So that you know in every question I can be accountable for whatever it is that's been I said, you know, whether it's good or bad. Sure. But I never want to do something that is way off the way or the way off the tracks. Yeah. And then the other book, that part of the book that I would, I would probably say is like my Bible almost is the, Law of Attraction.
00;54;13;13 - 00;54;34;20
Unknown
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Abraham Hicks, I read that book I was going through life changing with sir. So I went to Mellon University. My best friend won a medal, and and for me, just. Yeah. You know, and, so I, so I end up coming back home and, you know, they went out on a different thing, was trying to, you know, find my way.
00;54;34;22 - 00;54;54;04
Unknown
But I end up reading that book. And the first thing that I said is that there's nothing in this book that you did not already know. We are just going to teach you how to reapply to your life now. And when I read passage I was like, And so I read the book. Read the book, read the book.
00;54;54;04 - 00;55;17;23
Unknown
And I, and I can honestly say that like I'm a witness of the law of attraction and manifestation happen. Yeah. You know, that's fantastic. The life of the life that I'm living now. Sure. You know, and, And there's no better or no less than nobody else but being able to see the things that I've seen up. Yeah, you know, have an opportunity, you know, forever being present.
00;55;18;00 - 00;55;41;05
Unknown
Yeah. If it wasn't for me reading that book and changing. Sure. Right. Your beliefs. Yeah. So. And and it's not. It's not like, you know, you can create things out of thin air, but you can certainly take more control of your life. You know? Yeah. It's about like, instead of, like, being, just getting whipped in the current, like blowing how to flow with the current and start going the right direction.
00;55;41;05 - 00;55;44;28
Unknown
Do you want to go? Yeah. So, yeah. Yeah, 100%.
00;55;45;00 - 00;55;52;29
Unknown
